EVNNPT ensures progress of projects

In the first half of 2014, the power output of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) was estimated to have reached 59.95 billion kilowatts, an increase of nine percent compared with the same period last year, accounting for 19.1 percent of this year’s plan. The power loss reached 2.6 percent, down 0.06 percent on the corresponding period of 2013.

Power projects completed on schedule
Over the past six months, EVNNPT has launched 16 out of 28 power projects (three 500kV and 13 220kV projects) including pressing ones like the Cao Bang-Bac Kan 220kV transmission line, the Duyen Hai-My Tho 500kV transmission line and the Bac Kan and Tay Ninh 220kV stations. It has also connected power to 16 out of 32 projects (six 500kV and 10 220kV projects) like the Quang Ninh-Mong Duong and Vinh Tan-Song May 500kV transmission lines and the 220kV Duyen Hai-Tra Vinh Electricity Center transmission line.

EVNNPT also guaranteed progress of important works such as the Pleiku-My Phuoc- Cau Bong and Quang Ninh-Thuong Tin 500kV transmission lines, increased capacity of Bac Giang, Da Nang and Nha Trang 220kV transformer stations and connected power to critically important transmission lines and transformer stations like the Phu Lam -O Mon 500kV transmission line.
To implement cost optimization, the corporation is actively using software programs that apply information technology in management, and launched an IT Road map  in order to develop strategies and orientations for IT deployment in the next 10 years.
Ensuring transmission of 33.3 billion kWh of commercial electricity
According to plan, in the third quarter of 2014, EVNNPT will ensure every necessary condition to ensure thesafe operation of transmission grids, contributing to meeting the demand for 33.3 billion kWh of commercial electricity as planned. It will also instruct company members to increase operational discipline to prevent labor accidents, take initiatives in preventing and fighting floods, protecting and operating safely to cope with extreme weather and natural disasters and deal with corridor violations along 500kV transmission lines, especially the Nho Quan-Ha Tinh, Ha Tinh-Da Nang and Pleiku-My Phuoc-Cau Bong.
EVNNPT will strive to ensure progress of investment projects according to plans, including key works like the Cau Bong 500kV transformer station, the Quang Ninh-Hiep Hoa 500kV transmission line, complete phase 2 of the Thanh Hoa-Vinh and Van Tri-Chem 220kV transmission lines and increase capacity of the Ha Tinh, Thuong Tin 500kV transformer stations. In addition, a number of key 220kV and 500kV transmission lines and projects on increasing capacity at southern 220kV transformer stations will also be launched such as the Pho Noi and Long Phu-O Mon 500kV transformer stations and the Thai Bình, Trung Son, Thuong Kon Tum 220kV transmission lines.
In the six month period, total investment of EVNNPT was estimated at VND8.245 trillion, equal to 44.3 percent of the year’s plan. Its company members are completing their projects to be approved and launched in 2014, especially urgent projects such as equipping 220kV transformers at the Hiep Hoa 500kV transformer station; the Pleiku 2 500kV transformer station and the 220kV transmission line for the Dong Nai 5 hydropower plant./.
